We met amazing people on the road (and we will post a blog soon about our east coast tour adventure, promise!), but we are so appreciative and full of love for our hometown of Wilmington, NC. We can’t think of a better homecoming than playing music and celebrating the release of our album with all of our friends here! This Saturday, October 5th, we’re throwing a big party at our favorite local record store Gravity Records. Wilmington Wine will be there with wine and NC brews. The event is free and we really want you to come. In fact, doors are at 6pm so that all of our friends who are musicians with shows that night and all of our other friends who have kids and don’t want to bring them to the bar can come. We like you! We’ve been rehearsing with the full band. That’s right! You will get to hear songs from the new album with a 6 piece band featuring some of Wilmington’s most talented musicians: Dylan Linehan on backing vocals and piano, Leslie Wiegle on backing vocals, Nick Simon on drums, and Graham Wilson on bass. We are so pleased with how everything sounds and can’t wait to share it with all of you! There’s also a rumor that Kim might bring out her trumpet…
Also, guest musician (and Carolina Music Award winner) Crissie McCree will be playing a special acoustic set.
We’ve missed you Wilmington, and we hope you’ve missed us too. Thanks to all of the local businesses who were so kind to us and let us put up posters and flyers. People really are the nicest here. Wilmington, we love you! Hugs and high fives for everyone! Come celebrate with us on Saturday!
