“Alone on Christmas” Magazine Article

Folkstar article in Pop Vult Magazine: http://www.popvulturemag.com/2012/12/folkstar-releases-alone-on-christmas.html

Transcript:

Just in time for Christmas, folk-rock band Folkstar released their new original holiday single “Alone on Christmas,” along with an accompanying music video. Instead of writing about a happy Hallmark holiday, Folkstar tackled the difficult subject of being alone on Christmas. Whether dealing with heartbreak or loss, sometimes the holidays may not only bring joy, but also tough emotional times. Though the song and video are poignant at times, the song is also quite uplifting and delivers solace (and some silliness) at its conclusion. Brian Tucker of the Wilmington Star News writes: “The bittersweet, catchy song features a solid chorus and a jazzy guitar melody that plays out like a stroll in the park.”

“Alone on Christmas” is available on iTunes:https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/alone-on-christmas-single/id588097808. Watch the video on YouTube:www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpl5qDG5ZgA.

Folkstar Halloween

For Halloween the local folk rockers Folkstar – Kim Dicso and Sue Cag played a show with makeup like Paul Stanley and Ace Frehley from KISS. The video posted by Karmic Fury (who’s been posting a lot of local live music videos) is a compilation of Folkstar tunes and, of course, KISS’ “Rock and Roll All Night” and Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Watch Cag shred in the video just before the minute marker. The duo also posted a new video for the song “Cards and Letters” recently.

They also have two new videos, one just out that’s for an original Christmas song – “Alone on Christmas” the band is selling to help fund their next album. The bittersweet, catchy song features a solid chorus and a jazzy guitar melody that plays out like a stroll in the park.
