Folkstar was invited to participate in a showcase this past weekend at Ted’s Fun on the River. In addition to Folkstar, the showcase featured local acoustic legends Big Al Hall, John Fonveille, Steven Compton, and Jude Eden – with an accordian cameo from Al DiMarco, who was also the emcee for the evening. The venue was really homey with a listening room vibe, and it made for an awesome night.

We treated the crowd to a lively 4 song set of “Cards and Letters”, “Reign Falls”, “Twilight”, and “Gone”. We, as well as our music, were thoroughly embraced and we met some great new friends. If you’d like to hear good music, be treated like family, and have a killer view of the Cape Fear River at sunset, check out Ted’s. We hope to be invited back really soon!

Next on the Folkstar calendar is a slot as featured performer at the songwriters’ showcase May 10th at Reel Cafe. The monthly showcase consists of short sets from acoustic acts with a featured performer each month – this time, that featured performer is us! The listening room event runs from 7-9pm.

We’re also still rising in the Ourstage Warped Tour rankings and are currently #60 for Virginia Beach!
